Down from previous forecasts, 4% average in MENA area, Tunisia| glObserver Global Economics

In its new statement on the economic outlook of the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Improvment(EBRD) forecasts a 2.8% increase rate this year and a 3.6% increase in 2016 for Tunisia (against the 3% estimate by the government). In 2014, Tunisia registered a 2.3% increase rate.

For these reasons, the new estimate for 2015 was revised down by 0.2% from January. In particular, the statement noted that the deterioration of the security situation following the terror attack on the Bardo museum on March 18 will have a negative impact on tourism and investments.
