Malaysia to build 2.4-bln USD power plant in southern Vietnam| glObserver Global Economics


Malaysia’s independent power producer Teknik Janakuasa Sdn. Bhd has been licensed to develop a coal-fired power plant with investment of 2.4 billion U. S. dollars in Vietnam’s Tra Vinh Province, local online newspaper Tuoi Tre (Youth) News reported Tuesday.

The Duyen Hai 2 plant is part four power plants to be developed at the Duyen Hai Electricity Center in Tra Vinh, which will have a combined capacity of 4,200 MW once in operation. The Duyen Hai 1, 3 and 4 plants are being developed by EVN, Vietnam’s power giant.
